H.E. PRESIDENT ANTON CARAGEA MEETS WITH LEADERS OF THE BUSINESS COUNCILS AFFILIATED WITH ECTT

The President of the European Council on Tourism and Trade, H.E. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea led a working meeting with the leaders of the Business Councils, part of the European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT), and listened to their plans and agendas for 2027-2030 period and issued directions regarding future activities and new directions for development and emphasized the new plans and new directions to be persued.

H.E. President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea concluded the meeting by highlighting as an important next level in developing the worldwide Business Council system is the creation of regional-based Business Councils

Ambassador Tiberiu Puiu presented the latest achievements of the Business Council system, supported and sponsored by the European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT).

Your Excellency, President Anton Caragea, it is my pleasure to inform you that at this moment of the present-day situation of the Business Councils system of ECTT  I would also like to mention our international cooperation. We have established business councils with 76 countries. 

All of these councils remain active. In particular, our cooperation with countries of the Global South has intensified. Our representative offices also continue to operate successfully. We maintain a presence in more than 78 countries through both permanent and honorary representatives. Our honorary representatives work on essentially the same basis as full-time representatives: they maintain their own offices and cover their own operating expenses. 

We simply authorise them to represent the interests of the European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT) . We, therefore, support their activities and seek to make the fullest possible use of this network.

We are actively engaged in all major business councils and associations, including those of the EAEU, CIS, SCO, BRICS, and the Asia-Pacific region. 

We also organise a wide range of business forums and, as a rule, chair the business councils within these integration frameworks.

After Ambassador Tiberiu Puiu presented the latest numbers and information, Academician Mircea Constantinescu remarked that: 

Mr President, you previously expressed the wish at our congress that we continue developing the chamber system and ensure that we are as close as possible to entrepreneurs. 

Taking this guidance into account, as well as the provisions of the law on chambers of commerce and industry – which also assigns us the function of providing services – we have worked to implement these objectives.

H.E. President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea concluded the meeting by highlighting as an important next level in developing the worldwide Business Council system is the creation of regional-based Business Councils on the type of Europe-ASEAN Business Council, Europe-West Africa Business Council, Europe-East Africa Business Council, the Europe-Latin America Business Council, offering better coordination and enhanced opportunities for economic promotion, development and economic diplomacy. and entrusted Academician Mircea Constantinescu with the task of proposing future leaders for these Business Councils.
